If there is a chance that your personal/home computer might be monitored, if possible avoid using it. Instead, why not use a computer at a library, or internet café, or at a friend's house you trust.

It is possible to delete your internet history in order to hide the websites you have been visiting. However – if you don’t reguarly clear your history, your partner might become suspicious. If it’s safe, follow these steps:

Google Chrome

Delete All History:

  • Step 1: Press "CTRL SHIFT DEL" together on the keyboard.
  • Step 2: Click on the drop down menu and select "the beginning of time".
  • Step 3: Tick the "Browsing history" box.
  • Step 4: Tick the "Download history" box.
  • Step 5: Tick the "Cookies and other site and plug-in data" box.
  • Step 6: Tick the "Cached images and files" box.
  • Step 7: Click the "Clear browsing data" button.



Delete Specific Websites:

  • Step 1: Press "CTRL H" together on the keyboard.
  • Step 2: Tick the box(s) next to the website you wish to remove.
  • Step 3: After all the websites you wish to remove have been ticked, Click "Remove selected items".
  • Step 4: If you can't see all your history, scroll to the bottom and click "Older", and repeat steps 2 and 3.

Firefox Mozilla

  • Step 1: Click on the "☰" icon at the top right of your browser window.
  • Step 2: Click on "History".
  • Step 3: Click on "Clear Recent History".
  • Step 4: Click on the drop down menu and chose how much of your history you'd like to remove.


  • Step 5: Click the "Details" button.
  • Step 6: Tick the "Browsing & Download History" box.
  • Step 6: Tick the "Cookies" box.
  • Step 6: Tick the "Cache" box.
  • Step 6: Tick the "Active Logins" box.
  • Step 7: Finally click the "Clear Now" button.

Internet Explorer

  • Step 1: Click on the "Cog" icon at the top right of your browser window.
  • Step 2: Click on "Safety".
  • Step 3: Click on "Delete browsing history...".


  • Step 4: Tick the "Preserve Favorites Website data" box.
  • Step 5: Tick the "Temporary Internet files and website files" box.
  • Step 6: Tick the "Cookies and website data" box.
  • Step 7: Tick the "History" box.
  • Step 8: Finally click the "Delete" button.
